About the Author

authorIIJoseph E. Jannotta Jr. graduated from Williams College with a BA in History in 1950 and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1967. Following service as a lieutenant in the US Navy from 1951–1955, which included a tour in Korea as a carrier pilot, he resumed a career with Jewel Companies, where he spent twenty-five years rising to the vice presidential level as a senior human resource officer.

In 1976, he assumed the role of president of Yoplait Midwest, a start-up company, and remained there until its sale to General Mills two years later. In 1978, he formed Jannotta, Bray & Associates, Inc., a career-consulting firm, with thirteen offices nationwide, and served as chairman until the company’s sale in 1994. From 2006–2007, Jannotta served on a seven-member Defense Advisory Committee on Military Compensation for the Secretary of Defense.

He currently lives in Santa Barbara, California, with his wife, Gina.
